Anyone interested in joining the MAM may become a prospective member. The cost is £31 and you will receive the monthly circular, by email, which details all forthcoming meets. Prospective members may contact any meet co-ordinator and arrange to come on meets.
You will be able to get to know members of the MAM through mountain activities around Coniston, the Ogwen valley, and the Peak District, in addition to becoming familiar with the customs and practices of using the MAM’s huts.
A particularly good way of doing this is by attending a maintenance meet at one of the huts. Attendance at meets should allow prospective members to meet the criteria for membership. Contact the Membership Secretary to find out more.
To apply for full membership please download the membership application form. Please post or email the form to the Membership Secretary. Proposers and seconders should send their letters of support directly to the Membership Secretary. The annual subscription is dependent on age on January 1. Current subscription rates are:
|12 – 17
|18 – 25
|26 – 69
In order to become a member a candidate will need to:
- Have a proposer and seconder who are existing members of the MAM
- Have attended at least three MAM meets in the last three years, at least two of which must have been in our huts
- Have a current and active interest in mountaineering
- Be elected to membership by the MAM committee
- Pay the entrance fee and annual subscription
Completed forms should be sent to the Membership Secretary whose address is on the forms.
Proposers and Seconders should download and read the Guidance for Proposers and Seconders.
Parents of prospective Junior Members should also complete the Parental Consent form.
